Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I get my downloadable files?

Purchased downloads can be accessed by logging into your account and checking under Previous Orders > Downloads. Click here to go directly to your downloads page.

I have purchased downloads, but my Downloads page says, "You have not made any previous downloadable orders!"

There may be a problem with your payment. Please email military@documentaryrecordings.com with your Order ID (found under Order Details in your email receipt) and a description of the problem.

Nothing happens when I click the "Download" button on my Downloads page.

Please try again using a different web browser. For the best experience we recommend using the most recent version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers. If you are still unable to download using a second browser, please email military@documentaryrecordings.com with your Order ID (found under Order Details in your email receipt) and a description of the problem.

My files downloaded, but I am unable to open the downloaded folder.

Your MP3 files are enclosed in a .zip folder which must be uncompressed. If your computer does not have the necessary software to unzip compressed files, there are free plugins for both Windows and Mac.

To prevent piracy, our downloads also contain a security token in the filename which can cause problems on certain systems. If the file you have downloaded looks something like "Your Files.zip.14c1d75885d11a3a97782q4c1f213" try deleting everything after ".zip" from the filename, and then try uncompressing the files again.

How do I get my downloaded MP3s onto my MP3 player?

We cannot provide technical support for your computer or MP3 device. Typically you will need to have the correct software installed (WinAmp for Windows or iTunes for Mac) and will need to import the MP3 files into that software.

My music software says it cannot open/import my MP3 files.

Our MP3 files are encoded using the LAME MP3 library for the widest possible compatibility. If you are experiencing problems importing them into your system, first try downloading the LAME encoder and using that to convert the MP3 files for your computer.

If that fails, please email military@documentaryrecordings.com with your Order ID (found under Order Details in your email receipt) and a description of the problem, including the following information:

  • Your operating system and version (e.g., Mac OS 10.8, Windows 7, Windows XP).
  • Your MP3 software (e.g., iTunes, WinAmp)
  • The specific error message you get when attempting to open your MP3s.

We will do our best to provide you with a version of the MP3 files that will work for your computer/device.
